IP, Temple-Inland to extend U.S. Dept. of Justice's review period for acquisition to provide time to resolve department's concerns

MEMPHIS, Tennessee , January 27, 2012 (press release) – International Paper Company (NYSE: IP - News) and Temple-Inland Inc. (NYSE: TIN - News) today announced that they have agreed to extend the U.S. Department of Justice's ("DOJ") review period with respect to International Paper's acquisition of Temple-Inland until February 13, 2012 to provide the parties with time to enter into binding documentation to resolve the DOJ's concerns with respect to the pending transaction.
