LOS ANGELES , January 27, 2012 () – A market research report said that a new single-serve beverage maker, the Esio Beverage System, could create more competition in the single-serve coffee market, Reuters reported Jan. 26.

The report by research firm Detwiler Fenton said the system would provide more competition for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Keurig, Kraft Foods Inc. and Nestle. The Esio product can make single servings of hot and cold drinks, including coffee, tea, energy drinks and vitamin waters.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to soon start selling the Esio system in its stores.
