Kentucky producers of livestock, honeybees and farm-raised fish have until the end of the month to apply for emergency assistance if they sustained losses due to disease, adverse weather or other conditions.
The program is for losses not covered under other disaster assistance programs established by the 2008 Farm Bill.
The U.S. Agriculture Department's Farm Service Agency is authorized to spend up to $50 million per year nationwide to provide emergency relief for eligible losses.
