WASHINGTON , January 11, 2012 (press release) – U.S. production of major plastic resins totaled 5.9 billion pounds during November 2011, a change of zero percent as compared to the same month in 2010, according to statistics released today by the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Year-to-date production was 68.8 billion pounds, a 0.5 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2010.

Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 6.3 billion pounds during November 2011, an increase of 4.2 percent from the same month one year earlier. Year-to-date sales and captive use was 68.8 billion pounds, a 0.2 percent increase compared to the same period in 2010.
