Yara says it has no plans to scale back NPK output amid recent announcements of soil nutrient production cutbacks; Mosaic, Potash Corp. and Uralkali recently announced plans for reduced production in 2012

LOS ANGELES , December 30, 2011 () – Yara International ASA says that at present, the company does not intend to scale back NPK production, Bloomberg reported Dec. 30, citing Thor Giaever, the company's investor relations director in an article published by Norway-based business newspaper Finansavisen.

Bloomberg noted that three other companies have recently made it known their intention to cut production. U.S.-based Mosaic Co. recently said it would reduce production by up to 250,000 tonnes through Q1 while Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan said it would cut potash output at two of its local mines. Russia-based Uralkali OAO also announced a cutback in production of approximately 7% in 2012.
