SCA Hygiene Australasia donates 280,000 bars of its Viti Soap brand to Fiji's Ministry of Health, highlights ministry's work of raising awareness about risks of not washing hands

LOS ANGELES , December 22, 2011 (Industry Intelligence) – SCA Hygiene Australasia donated 280,000 bars of its Viti Soap brand, a total value of US$100,000, to Fiji's Ministry of Health, The Fiji Times reported Dec. 22.

The donation highlighted the ministry's work over the past year of raising awareness about the risks of not washing hands, according to marketing manager Jeetesh Kumar.

"The bars of soap will be distributed by the ministry as its sees fit and we hope we will see a significant change in illnesses such as diarrhoea and typhoid as more and more people use soap when washing their hands," Kumar said.

SCA Hygiene Australasia is based in Nakasi, Fiji, and manufactures and distributes the Libra sanitary range, Giggles & Treasures diapers and TENA adult diapers.
