PriceSmart acquires land in Cali, Columbia, for new warehouse club, with opening anticipated for late 2012; company operates 29 clubs in 12 countries, U.S. Virgin Islands

– PriceSmart, Inc. (NASDAQ: PSMT - News) today announced that on December 14, 2011 it acquired approximately 12,135 sq. meters of land in south Cali, Colombia, upon which the Company plans to construct and operate a new PriceSmart Warehouse Club. This Club will be PriceSmart's second in Colombia. It is currently anticipated that the new PriceSmart Club will open in late 2012.
PriceSmart, headquartered in San Diego, owns and operates U.S.-style membership shopping warehouse clubs in Latin America and the Caribbean, selling high quality merchandise at low prices to PriceSmart members. PriceSmart now operates 29 warehouse clubs in 12 countries and one U.S. territory (five in Costa Rica; four each in Panama and Trinidad; three each in Guatemala and Dominican Republic; two each in El Salvador and Honduras; and one each in Aruba, Barbados, Colombia, Jamaica, Nicaragua and the United States Virgin Islands).
