LOS ANGELES , December 13, 2011 () – Containerboard prices in Poland are still “wobbly” in December, said a source, who was surprised at the severity of the price cuts that had been predicted as conditions shifted from a seller’s to a buyer’s market, reported EUWID-Paper on Dec. 12.

In October and November, quotes for recycled corrugated case materials had declined by €40 (US$52) to €50 per tonne.

The sharp price reductions were triggered by excess supply, high inventories and declining wastepaper costs, despite strong demand. The market was largely unchanged in December, EUWID-Paper reported.
