PriceSmart says its November net sales grew 23.1% to US$162.4M; company operated 29 warehouse clubs as of end of November, versus 28 in year-ago period

SAN DIEGO , December 8, 2011 () – PriceSmart, Inc. (NASDAQ: PSMT - News) today announced that for the month of November 2011, net sales increased 23.1% to $162.4 million from $131.9 million in November a year earlier. For the three months ended November 30, 2011, net sales increased 24.1% to $468.3 million from $377.3 million in the same period last year. There were 29 warehouse clubs in operation at the end of November 2011 compared to 28 warehouse clubs in operation in November 2010.

For the five weeks ended December 4, 2011, comparable warehouse sales for the 27 warehouse clubs open at least 13 1/2 full months increased 18.5% compared to the same five-week period last year. For the thirteen-week period ended December 4, 2011, comparable warehouse sales increased 18.8% compared to the comparable thirteen-week period a year ago.
