UAE consumers spend average of US$229/month on eating out, the highest among Middle East consumers, survey says

A new survey said that consumers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) spend an average of US$229 a month on eating out, the highest among Middle East consumers, Emirates247.com reported Dec. 7.
According to the survey, 30% of UAE consumers spend between $101 and $500 a month on dining out. Those above age 55 were the highest spenders, spending an average of $738 a month. In addition, 11% said they were likely to eat out more in the latter half of 2011 compared to previous months.
Food courts were the most preferred dining outlets, with 88% of the respondents visiting them in past months, according to the survey.
