Sealed Air Corp. has received additional local assistance for a US$3.6-million Cryovac expansion at its packaging plant in Wichita Falls, Texas, the Times Record News reported on Dec. 7.
The Wichita Falls City Council on Tuesday approved an additional $240,000 for the project, contingent upon the company creating 30 new jobs, bringing the total in local assistance to $272,000.
The South Carolina-based packaging company plans to spend up to $3.4 million on a laser slitter machine and up to $225,000 for a laminating pouch machine.
Sealed Air will increase production next year on Cryovac products it currently doesn’t make in Wichita Falls, possibly providing additional employment for 25 to 30 people in the future, the Times Record News reported.
The company’s Cryovac brand of shrink films is used for food packaging, according to the company’s website.
