LOS ANGELES , November 29, 2011 () – Kraft Foods is planning a major launch early next year of its new refrigerated milk-and-granola bar product, Crain’s Chicago Business reported Nov. 29.

The product, MilkBite, was rolled out at Walmart this past fall, but Kraft is planning a national launch in January that’s expected to include TV ads, digital ads, social media, sampling and in-store marketing.

Kraft is plugging the offering as a wholesome snack with real milk and the calcium equivalent of an eight-ounce glass of milk. The MilkBite bars come in a variety of flavors, including chocolate, mixed berry, peanut butter and oatmeal-raisin.
