RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, California , November 28, 2011 (press release) – Barrier Plastics, Inc., the sole North American manufacturer of Baritainers®, is revolutionizing the packaging of corrosive and difficult to contain liquid chemicals. Baritainers® are a sustainable packaging alternative that avoids the potential failure of fluorinated packaging while reducing a product's carbon footprint.

Baritainers® are effective due to a combination of Quoral® Barrier Resin (BR) and a proprietary production process. By processing under well defined conditions in specially adapted extrusion equipment, Polyamide (PA) is stretched into thin lamellas in a Polyethylene (PE) matrix. In this way an integrated layered structure is originated, where a multitude of overlapping PA platelets guarantee improved permeation results.

Baritainers® provide the packaging industry with benefits such as:

Economic: Baritainers® bring choice to the marketplace.
Elimination of Process Steps: Baritainers® arrive at a packaging facility ready for filling. No post-manufacturing treatment is needed.
Environmental: User sustainability goals increase because of reduced greenhouse gas emissions since containers ship directly to packaging facility. Also, potential environmental accidents are avoided during manufacturing.
Longer Shelf Life: Nylon barrier doesn't break down so material stays contained and package stays intact.

Baritainers® are lightweight and recyclable. Jerry cans are UN Classification X rated, impact resistant, and stackable and come in 4, 5, 10, and 20 liter sizes. F-Style Bottles and Cylinder Round bottle are also available in various sizes. Custom projects are also available.

Baritainers® have been extensively tested both for efficacy and safety and exhibit better performance characteristics than fluorinated HDPE containers. They are suitable for Agricultural Chemicals such as insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides.

Barrier Plastics will be introducing and exhibiting the Baritainer® product line at the Agricultural Retailers Association Expo in Boca Raton on Nov. 29-Dec. 1, 2011. Stop by Booth 70 to see the revolutionary Baritainers®.
