Global haircare industry leader Regis raises more than US$1M for breast cancer research through its annual, national Clip for the Cure campaign

MINNEAPOLIS , November 22, 2011 (press release) – Regis Corporation (NYSE: RGS) is proud to announce that their annual, national Clip for the Cure campaign reached its target goal and raised over $1 million for the Regis Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. The campaign took place in October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Regis Corporation, the global leader in the $160 billion haircare industry, has been supporting the cause since 1990. To date, Regis stylists, staff and clients have raised over $9 million to fund groundbreaking breast cancer research at Mayo Clinic and other nationally recognized centers.

Over 7,400 Regis Corporation corporate salons across the country kicked off October by hosting a one-day haircutting event, followed by additional fundraising opportunities throughout the month. For example, 10 percent of net proceeds from the sale of private label products, including customer favorites like DESIGNLINE®, Cost Cutters Professional and MasterCuts' M|C line, were donated directly to the Foundation. Limited edition pink products, including breast cancer awareness pins and bracelets, were also available for purchase.

"It was gratifying to see our hard working stylists and their supportive families, loyal customers and dedicated business partners join forces for our Clip for the Cure campaign," said Randy Pearce, Regis Corporation's President. "Years ago, we chose breast cancer research as our primary charitable focus because so many of our employees and customers are women, many of whom have personal connections to the disease and are dedicated to the cause. We're committed to supporting this cause until a cure is found."
