Walgreen Co. has announced the launch of a no-name line of household products and select foods, as store undergoes major store-brand consolidation, Supermarket News reported Nov. 14.
The brand will be known simply by a smiling sun graphic and will be priced at Walgreens’ starting price point, according to Laura Sturdevant, director of product development, private brands.
The company is conducting an overhaul of its brands, while it seeks to double its US$4 billion private-label sales in the next seven years.
