Viridian Wood Products today announced the introduction of a new line of 4’x8’ architectural-grade veneered panels milled from reclaimed North American wood, according to Viridian co-owner Joe Mitchoff.
Viridian’s sliced veneers—derived from old-growth redwood previously used in wine tanks, Oregon black walnut reclaimed from urban salvage, and old-growth Douglas fir from warehouse deconstruction—are produced domestically and laid-up on urea formaldehyde-free, FSC®-certified medium density fiberboard (MDF) in a variety of thicknesses, including fire-rated cores. Mitchoff said more species are being sourced for launch in the future.
“These are distinctive, beautiful and rich in history, a befitting use of some amazing wood,” Mitchoff said. “And they’re equally appropriate for store fixtures, wall panels, commercial casework and cabinetry.”
All Viridian products are manufactured in Portland and derived from reclaimed wood from unique industrial sources. Products can contribute points toward the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Credits: MRc3: (Materials Reuse), MRc4 (Recycled Content), MRc5 (Regional Materials) and MRc7 (Certified Wood).
Viridian Wood Products manufactures flooring, architectural panels, table/countertops, paneling, decking and beams. The company is headquartered in Portland, Oregon, and was founded with the purpose of upcycling post-industrial and dockside discards (shipping crates, pallets, scrap lumber) into useful reclaimed interior and exterior building products. Viridian sells direct through its website and ships throughout North America. For more information visit http://viridianwood.com or call 1-877-909-WOOD.
