Heinz cuts its solid waste 45.7% since 2005, on track to achieve or surpass goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, solid landfill waste, energy consumption and water consumption by at least 20% each by fiscal year 2015, CEO says

LOS ANGELES , November 14, 2011 () – H.J. Heinz Co. said it has cut its solid waste by almost 50% since 2005, PlasticNews.com reported Nov. 14.

According to the company, it has decreased the amount of solid waste it creates by 45.7% per 100 tonnes of production globally. The reduction amount compared numbers between fiscal year 2005 and fiscal year 2011.

Heinz CEO William R. Johnson said that the company is on track of achieving or surpassing its goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, solid landfill waste, energy consumption and water consumption by at least 20% each by fiscal year 2015.
