BP Zhuhai Chemical restarts 500,000-tonnes/year PTA line after two weeks of scheduled maintenance; company to shut 900,000-tonnes/year line in December for debottlenecking

BP Zhuhai Chemical Co, has brought its 500,000-tonnes per year terephthalic acid line back online Nov. 9 after two weeks of scheduled maintenance, Platts reported Nov. 10, citing a company source.
The JV between BP and Zhuhai Port Co. Ltd. also announced it will shut down its 900,000-tonnes/year PTA production line in December for a month for debottlenecking. The debottlenecking is expected to expand annual capacity by 30,000 tonnes.
BP Zhuhai is also constructing a third line, a 1.25-million-tonnes/year PTA line that is schedule for completion in 2014.
