The Arkansas Agriculture Board elected Charles Rodgers Jr. of Rison as its new chairperson. Aubra H. Anthony Jr. of El Dorado was elected vice chairperson.
Charles Rodgers Jr. was appointed to the Arkansas Agriculture Board in 2007 as the beef industry representative. Mr. Rodgers raises cattle and poultry at his Triple R ranch in Rison and has served as the past president of the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association. He serves as a voting delegate to the national Cattlemen’s Beef Board.
Aubra H. Anthony Jr. has served as the Arkansas Forestry Commission’s representative to the Arkansas Agriculture Board since 2009. Mr. Anthony is President and Chief Executive Officer of Anthony Forest Products Company. He is a former Chairman of the American Forest and Paper Association and was appointed recently to serve on the first national Softwood Lumber Board.
The Arkansas Agriculture Board was established when the Arkansas Agriculture Department was formed in August 2005. The board is to advise the secretary of the department on matters related to Arkansas agriculture. It includes twenty-one members from across the state representing varying agricultural, forestry and related interests and eight ex-officio members from state institutions of higher education and conservation districts.
