Simon Property Group Inc. is suing the state of Indiana, hoping to force it to collect sales tax from Amazon.com Inc., Bloomberg reported Nov. 3.
In a statement, the mall operator said it was not seeking monetary compensation, but fairness to brick-and-mortar retailers. It says that Amazon's annual sales in the state are in the hundreds of millions of dollars and that the state has ignored requests to collect taxes.
