ABBEVILLE, Alabama , November 1, 2011 (press release) – Great Southern Wood Preserving, Incorporated, the nation’s leading producer of pressure treated pine lumber, announced today that one of its subsidiaries has acquired a wood treating plant and its related assets in Mansura, Louisiana. The plant was formerly owned by Elder Wood Preserving Co., Inc.

“For more than 30 years, Elder Wood Preserving has been a leader in our industry in Louisiana and portions of the Gulf Coast. Our two organizations have a similar culture that always puts customers first, and our expectation is that the plant will continue to do just that. “It’s an exciting opportunity for all involved and something I wish Joe Elder could have been here to celebrate with us today,” Rane added, referring to the recent passing of Elder Wood Preserving’s founder.
