Menasha Packaging considers constructing preprint services facility in western U.S. to extend presence beyond Neenah, Wisconsin, facility, expects to decide by spring 2012

NEENAH, Wisconsin , November 1, 2011 (press release) – Continued growth and demand for preprint services from both current customers and prospects is leading Menasha Packaging to consider establishing a facility in the western United States. “The ability to get closer to existing customers as well as focus on a growing segment of the market is why we’re looking into this expansion,” said Mike Waite, president of Menasha Packaging.

Menasha is currently the largest independent provider of preprint services in North America.

“For several years now, we’ve had the nice challenge of working to keep up our preprint production meet the growing demands of our customers. This next phase is a natural extension of that growth” said Denny Lee, vice president of specialty businesses at Menasha Packaging.

Menasha previously expanded its PrePrint facility at 1257 Gillingham Road in Neenah, Wis., in 2008. That expansion added 44,000 square feet to the facility and a press for the printing of linerboard. In 2011, the company invested in a 2,800 square foot addition, new equipment and software to move its platemaking process in-house.

The company currently operates four presses and has a comprehensive offering of preprint services in Neenah. It is considering a similar facility for its western expansion plans. It expects to have a decision on whether to expand by the spring of 2012.
