Carbondale, Colorado, town trustees approve ban on plastic bags at local grocery stores; ordinance to take effect in May

CARBONDALE, Colorado , October 27, 2011 (press release) – Carbondale town trustees have approved a ban on plastic shopping bags at local grocery stores.

The trustees followed Aspen's lead, opting for a ban rather than a fee for their use.

According to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent (http://bit.ly/t5k90w ), the ordinance will take effect in May.

Other area municipalities including Basalt and Glenwood Springs are also considering bag laws.
