Work begins on Diageo's €5M expansion of its Banbeath site in Levenmouth, Scotland; new luxury bottling plant expected to create 30 new jobs

LOS ANGELES , October 26, 2011 () – Work has begun on Diageo’s £5 million (US$6.92 million) expansion of its Banbeath site in Levenmouth, Scotland, Fife Today reported Oct. 26.

Another 30 jobs are expected to be created at the Banbeath site – Levenmouth’s largest employer – with Diageo’s new luxury bottling plant.

The plant will focus on bottling top-end spirits, mainly whisky, for export sale to emerging markets such as Asia. It is expected that the additional plant will create another 10 HGV movements to the site per week.
