ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Illinois , October 25, 2011 (press release) – The Fibre Box Association (FBA) Board of Directors announces the appointment of a new President, Dennis Colley, effective November 1, 2011. Colley replaces Dwight Schmidt who announced his retirement from the position in July, effective December 31, 2011.

An Executive Search committee comprised of Tom Shallow (Fitzpatrick Container), Bill Hoel, (International Paper), Jim Porter (RockTenn), and Christian Fischer (Georgia Pacific) was formed to assess and interview candidates for the position. Colley was approved by the Executive Committee of the FBA Board of Directors.

"We were pleased to have such a quality group of candidates apply for the position," said Tom Shallow, FBA Chairman. "In the end we felt Dennis' skill set and experience offered the best match to the current and future needs of this important industry leadership position. We are pleased to have him join us."

Colley spent 35 years working for International Paper Corporation (IP). He held several positions at IP from 1974 until his retirement in 2009. His most recent position was Vice President of Integration for the Weyerhaeuser CBPR acquisition.

Colley served on the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) Containerboard Executive Board from 2001-2007 and was Chairman in 2006. He served on the Corrugated Packaging Alliance (CPA) Committee, co-sponsored by AF&PA, FBA and AICC, from 2003-2007, and was Co-Chairman from 2005-2006. Dwight Schmidt served as CPA Executive Director during Colley's tenure as Co-Chairman. "Dennis added leadership, process and focus during an important transitional time in CPA's history," said Schmidt.

Colley also served on the International Paper Foundation Board from 2005-2009, and he currently serves on the Children's Museum of Memphis Board.
