Beiersdorf's Nivea brand unveils contest via Facebook where contestants can share 2011 love stories; winning couple will be flown to Time Square on New Year's Eve, featured in Nivea's new Lip Care commercial

WILTON, Connecticut , October 18, 2011 (press release) – Fresh off the news that its A Kiss of Smoothness lip balm is preferred 2-to-1 for more kissable lips over the leading selling lip balm*, NIVEA unveiled today its biggest and most exciting New Year’s Eve program yet with the launch of the Kiss of a Lifetime Contest— a contest via Facebook where contestants can share their compelling love stories that demonstrate how love helped them to triumph in 2011 on Facebook.com/NIVEAUSA. NIVEA’s panel of celebrity and expert judges will determine the five finalists with the most deserving stories who will win a trip to New York City to appear on The Wendy Williams Show. Public votes will then determine the winning couple deemed America’s Most Deserving Couple to win the grand prize:

* The couple will be flown to New York City where they’ll join Bill & Giuliana on the NIVEA Kiss Stage in Times Square on New Year’s Eve for the year’s most spectacular kiss
* Two exclusive VIP tickets to the New Year’s Eve party at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square
* The couple will appear in NIVEA Lip Care’s new commercial set to air on New Year’s Eve

To help ring in 2012 in front of millions of people and to help select the winners of the Kiss of a Lifetime Contest, NIVEA has enlisted one of America’s most romantic couples, TV personalities Bill and Giuliana Rancic. The couple, for the second year, will serve as official hosts of NIVEA’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration in the heart of Times Square.

The Kiss of a Lifetime Contest details are as follows:

SUBMISSION PERIOD: October 13th – November 13th
Starting October 13th, couples can log onto Facebook.com/NIVEAUSA to share their triumphant love stories, a photo and the compelling reasons they deserve to be named America’s Most Deserving Couple.

JUDGING PERIOD: November 14th – December 4th
NIVEA’s panel of celebrity and expert judges, lead by NIVEA Kiss Stage hosts Bill and Giuliana Rancic, will use their romance expertise to select five lucky couples that will advance to the finalist round where the public gets to vote on Facebook for the couple they feel most deserving of this once in a lifetime experience. All five finalists will win a trip to New York City to appear on The Wendy Williams Show.

PUBLIC VOTING PERIOD: December 5th – December 21st
Starting December 5th, people across the country can view the five most compelling love stories and vote to choose the couple they deem most deserving of the grand prize trip to Times Square on New Year’s Eve.

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT: December 22nd
Following the public voting period, NIVEA’s panel of celebrity and expert judges will announce the winning couple of the Kiss of a Lifetime Contest on Facebook.com/NIVEAUSA. The one lucky winning couple will earn the title of America’s Most Deserving Couple and the following exciting grand prizes:
