Southern Forest Products Assn. pays tribute to Mansura, Louisiana-based Elder Wood Preserving owner Joe Elder who has died from heart attack

LOS ANGELES , October 12, 2011 () – The Southern Forest Products Assn. (SFPA) has paid tribute to Joe Elder, the owner of Mansura, Louisiana’s Elder Wood Preserving Company, who passed away on Oct. 9 from a heart attack.

Elder is being remembered for his promotion of treated Southern pine lumber, BuildingOnline reported on Oct. 12.

SFPA president Adrian Blocker said Elder made many contributions supporting many of the association’s programs, and served the treating industry as a prominent statesman.
