Carter Holt Harvey Pulp and Paper appoints Australian Paper executive Jon Ryder as CEO

AUCKLAND, New Zealand , October 11, 2011 (press release) – Carter Holt Harvey is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jon Ryder to the role of Chief Executive, Pulp and Paper. This position became vacant following the recent sudden death of Mr. Brice Landman.

Jon joins Carter Holt Harvey from Australian Paper where he held the role of Group General Manager, Corporate Strategy for the last year based in Melbourne, Australia.

Prior to joining Paperlinx/Australian Paper in 2006, Jon held various senior operations roles at the Carter Holt Harvey Kinleith and Tasman Mills after joining the company in 1999.

“With a wealth of experience in the Pulp and Paper industry and enviable qualifications, we are very pleased that Jon has decided to join us to lead the Pulp and Paper business” said a company spokesperson.

Jon will relocate with his family from Melbourne to the Central North Island region of New Zealand and commence in this role in early January 2012.
