Lerner Publishing Group launches Lerner Digital eReader application for iPad, offers over 1,800 e-book titles

MINNEAPOLIS , October 11, 2011 (press release) – Lerner Publishing Group announced today the launch of the Lerner Digital(TM) eReader App for the iPad(R). With more than 1,800 eBooks available across age levels, interests, and genres, the Lerner Digital(TM) eReader App allows educators, parents, and readers to easily select, download, and read from among Lerner Publishing Group's sizable eBook collection, which includes eBooks from highly reviewed and award-winning nonfiction series and single titles to highly illustrated and designed picture books and graphic novels, to chapter books and young adult novels.

"Our new eReader App enables children, parents, teachers, and librarians to experience our books in new ways leveraging the iPad(R) which is quickly gaining popularity in schools and libraries" said Terri Reden, vice president of marketing and digital products, Lerner Publishing Group. "We are the first school library publisher to make our complete eBook collection accessible for reading and purchase via the iPad, which was in direct response to the evolving needs of our school and library customers."

In addition to being a well-designed eReader, the free app also includes an eBookstore complete with in-app purchase capabilities. No log-in is needed to browse the eBook collection, which includes nearly 2,000 Lerner Publishing Group titles, as well as books from Andersen Press USA, Gecko Press USA, and The Kane Press whose eBooks are distributed by Lerner Publisher Services. Customers with a Lerner Digital(TM) account may log-in, download, and read previously purchased eBooks within the digital "My Bookshelf," which can be viewed by thumbnail cover images or more complete book details, and the digital bookshelf may be searched or filtered by category, age, or other common attributes.

"Our unique publisher app makes it possible for our customers to access our extensive eBook library anywhere, any time," said Adam Lerner, president and publisher. "We're excited about the future promise that apps offer for a wealth of high-quality Lerner books, and we're thrilled that our books are more mobile and accessible than ever before."

The Lerner Digital(R) eBook App was developed in partnership with Impelsys, a global leader in providing electronic content delivery solutions. The app is available free in the Apple App Store at http://itunes.apple.com/app/lerner-digital-ereader/id460392803?mt=8 .
