Nordic Paper AS plans to cut a total 50 employees from two Swedish paper mills in order to improve efficiency, profitability and competitiveness, reported the Lesprom Network from the Nordic Paper Journal on Oct. 7.
Through an efficiency improvement program, the company will cut 20 employees from its Säffle paper mill and 30 employees from its Åmotfors paper mill.
Nordic Paper’s Säffle paper mill produces greaseproof paper and employs around 220 workers while the Åmotfors paper mill produces kraft paper and has about 125 workers.
There have been no announcements made on employee reductions at Nordic Paper’s two other mills in Bäckhammar, Sweden, and Greåker, Norway, reported the Lesprom Network from the Nordic Paper Journal.
