Coated paper manufacturer Burgo Group has announced its decision to permanently close its administrative center in San Mauro Torinese, Italy, and consolidate all administrative functions at its Altavilla Vicentina headquarters, German industry news service Euwid reported on Oct. 6.
The aim of the move, says Burgo, is to “eliminate a relic of the past,” and to achieve a more efficient corporate structure.
The company said the decision was final, but it had yet to decide when and how the move would take place.
Burgo said it employs 140 people at San Mauro Torinese, but Italian media reports have suggested that the number of jobs that could be affected at the administrative center is higher than the company's figure, at 170.
