PepsiCo reportedly in talks to buy Russian drinks producer OAO Deka, sources say

LOS ANGELES , October 7, 2011 () – Bloomberg reported on Oct. 6 that according to a story by Russian newspaper Kommersant, PepsiCo Inc. is in talks to buy Russian drinks producer OAO Deka.

In its story, Kommersant cited unidentified people familiar with details of the plan.

According to the newspaper story, Russian businessmen Konstantin Barinov once owned a 50% stake in Deka and is now seeking to get it back through the courts
