The Home Depot appoints Teresa Wynn Roseborough as executive VP, general counsel and corporate secretary

ATLANTA , October 6, 2011 (press release) – The Home Depot®, the world's largest home improvement retailer, announced it has named Teresa Wynn Roseborough executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. She will join the Company's senior leadership team and report to Frank Blake, chairman and CEO.

Roseborough will be responsible for leading The Home Depot's legal department, as well as its government relations and corporate security services functions. She will assume her new role on November 7.

With more than 25 years of legal experience, Roseborough joins The Home Depot from MetLife, where she most recently served as deputy general counsel. Prior to joining MetLife, Teresa was a partner at Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan LLP where she focused on complex litigation matters at both the trial and appellate level, including before the U.S. Supreme Court.

She also served as deputy assistant attorney general for the United States Department of Justice, where she provided legal counsel to the White House and all executive branch agencies. Earlier in her career, she served as a law clerk for United States Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens. Roseborough received a bachelor of arts from the University of Virginia, a master of education from Boston University and a juris doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
