MONTREAL , October 3, 2011 (press release) – The Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC) has awarded its “Positively Print” honor to Domtar Corporation (NYSE/TSX: UFS) for its PAPERbecause campaign. The award marks the latest achievement for Domtar’s effort to promote the important role paper plays in our lives and also its sustainability.

Positively Print was issued earlier this month in conjunction with GRAPH EXPO, the largest graphic communications exhibition and conference in the Americas. The award recognizes the variety of ways in which the value of print is being promoted. Nominated campaigns were evaluated for their originality and effectiveness in delivering the message of print as an integral component of today’s marketing strategies.

“The purpose of the Positively Print program is to acknowledge and showcase examples of creative and effective print advocacy campaigns with the entire graphic communications industry,” said Ralph Nappi, President of GASC. “We want to demonstrate to companies involved in print that advocating for print can be done and helps to carry a powerful message that will benefit the entire industry.”

The Positively Print award adds to a growing list of honors for PAPERbecause, including Best in Show at the ACE Awards, Best of Category in the Business Marketing Association’s B2 Awards, a NAMMU 2010 Environmental Award, as well as recognition from both the Association of Independent Creative Editors and the Printing Industry of the Carolinas.

“We’re very flattered and very grateful to the Graphic Arts Show Company,” said Lewis Fix, Domtar’s Vice-President of Sustainable Business and Brand Management. “The success of Domtar is very much connected to the success of the graphic arts community. The tangible, emotional connection we have to ink on paper is part of what PAPERbecause has been communicating for the past year. We’re glad to see further proof that the message is resonating.”
