Imperial Tobacco names Malcolm Wyman as independent non-executive director, effective Oct. 3, replacing Pierre Jungels, who will retire at the end of 2012

BRISTOL, England , September 30, 2011 (press release) – Imperial Tobacco Group PLC is pleased to announce, with effect from 3 October 2011, the appointment of Malcolm Wyman as an independent Non-Executive Director of the Company.

Malcolm was Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director of SABMiller Plc until his retirement in August 2011. Malcolm joined the company in 1986 holding a number of senior positions culminating in his appointment as Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director in 2001. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Nedbank Group Limited and Tsogo Sun Group.

Imperial Tobacco Group PLC also announces that Pierre Jungels will retire as a Non-Executive Director at the conclusion of the 2012 AGM having served nine years on the Board.

Iain Napier, Imperial Tobacco Group Chairman, said:
