Fire damages Segezha Packaging's paper sack production plant in Saransk, Russia, on Aug. 19, stops work at facility, but orders to be moved to Ukranian, Turkey plants

MOSCOW , August 22, 2011 (press release) – 19 August at 23.30 there was a fire at OOO Segezha Upakovka plant in Saransk (Segezha Packaging is part of Investlesprom group). The fire destroyed the production facility for paper sacks. The fire brigade managed to contain the fire and extinguish it towards morning. There were no casualties. The reasons for the fire are currently being investigated, fire damage is being estimated.

Lilya Zhigalova - director of “Sack division” of JVC “ Investlesprom” explained: The damage caused by the fire has stopped the work of the plant. However I can say with certainty that our clients will not suffer and their orders will be fullfilled. We are already moving orders to other production facilities of Segezha Packaging, particularly to Segezha. Both the Ukrainian plant and the plants in Turkey are ready to fulfill orders quickly.

On August ,20-21 the management and technical specialists of Segezha Packaging, Investlesprom Group, arrived at Saransk in order to discuss next steps considering the plant.
