U.K. recycled corrugated case material manufacturers cut prices by £15/tonne in August, September, following trend in mainland Europe

LOS ANGELES , September 21, 2011 (Forestweb) – Manufacturers of recycled corrugated case materials in the U.K. had to cut prices in late August and early September, after similar price cuts were implemented at mills on the European mainland, German industry news service Euwid reported on Sept. 20.

Prices were reduced by £15 (US$23.58) per tonne for all brown grades.

Downward price pressure on recycled containerboard has also continued through September, and analysts said this could lead to further price cuts either this month or in October.

Prices for British white-top testliner prices have held steady, although there is some evidence of softening in demand for this grade.
