Paraguayan demand for polyethylene and polypropylene resin increased 30% month-over-month in September ahead of year-end festivities, Platts reported Sept. 19, citing a source from Brazilian resin distributor, El Puente.
Brazilian offers in the Paraguayan market for September were at US$1,600 per tonne carriage paid to for high-density PE film and $1,640 CPT for HDPE injection, blow molding and linear low-density PE butene. Low-density PE film was offered at $1,830/tonne CPT.
Offers for Brazilian PP were quoted at $1,900/tonne CPT for homo and $1,950/tonne CPT for co-polymer. Random was overheard at $2,030/tonne CPT, Platts reported.
