Premier Christy Clark will speak at the Council of Forest Industries annual convention when it's held in Prince George on Thursday and Friday at the Civic Centre.
Clark will speak at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, shortly after the convention is opened. Forests, lands and natural resource operations minister Steven Thomson will give a noon-hour address on Friday.
The convention is the largest annual gathering of the forest industry in western Canada. Historically, it alternates between Prince George and Kelowna but had been on a three-year hiatus due to the global economic downturn.
Panel sessions on the outlook for overseas lumber markets, the opportunities and challenges in developing B.C.'s bioenergy and the use of wood as a "green" building material will be held.
