Ohio-based Carter Lumber names Mark Smith central Indiana's district manager as company seeks to increase customer base across all business segments

The Carter Lumber Co., based in Kent, Ohio, has promoted Mark Smith to central Indiana’s district manager, Home Channel News reported Aug. 30.
Smith, who began working in the company yard in 1998, had held all positions in the company before being appointed manager in Centerville, Indiana. Most recently, Smith was manager in Richmond, Indiana.
He will now report to central Indiana’s Vice President Kip Gleckler.
Founded in 1932, Carter Lumber has grown to become one of the top building materials retailers in the U.S., with more than 200 stores in 10 states, its website states.
According to Home Channel News, the company is currently working to increase its customer base across all of its business segments.
