Roseburg Forest Products held an outdoor ceremony in Weed, California, on Friday to mark the company's 75th anniversary, the Mount Shasta Herald reported on Aug. 26.
During the ceremony, CEO Allyn Ford and Arne Hultgren, planning manager for the company's California division, were presented with a plaque of appreciation by Assemblyman Doug LaMalfa.
Other community officials taking part in the event included Siskiyou County Supervisor Jim Cook, Weed Mayor Dave Pearce, Congressman Wally Herger and Assemblyman Dan Logue.
Ford said Roseburg was committed to the town of Weed, adding that he was particularly proud of the co-generation biomass plant, which converts wood waste to energy and uses excess steam to process the plant’s veneer.
