Big Lots Inc. hopes to nab some shuttered Borders Group locations, according to Big Lots' Legal and Real Estate Vice President
Chuck Haubiel, the Dayton Business Journal reported Aug. 16.
The bookseller recently went out of business, leaving 399 empty locations across the U.S.
Big Lots' strategy is not only to sell discounted goods, but also renting space at bargain prices. Many current Big Lots locations used to be Linens 'n Things, for example.
