The lease which commences September 1st will accommodate the company’s need for additional office space to house 500 new employees following its acquisition of Smurfit-Stone Container Corp.
RockTenn will occupy three floors of the 5-story, 125,280-square foot, Class-A Hampton Green I building. Duke Realty will relocate its 34,000-square-foot regional offices from Hampton Green to space at its Business Park at Sugarloaf complex.

The building provides convenient access to Interstate 85 and key Atlanta submarkets. RockTenn’s other Georgia operations are located in Atlanta, Lithia Springs, Columbus, Hartwell, Covington, Augusta, College Park, Lithonia and Marietta.
In a statement issued as part of Governor Nathan Deal’s announcement of the deal, Jim Rubright, Chairman and CEO of RockTenn, said, “Our continued growth in Georgia enables us to consolidate many of our corporate functions and focus on our primary objectives of providing superior paperboard and packaging solutions to our customers at very low costs, exceeding our customers’ expectations and creating long-term shareholder value. This expansion will help us continue to provide our employees with a great place to work.”
The Governor’s Office, the State of Georgia and Gwinnett County worked with RockTenn to provide incentives for the expansion, including the opportunity to utilize the Georgia Quick Start workforce development program, the University System of Georgia’s Intellectual Capital Program, the Georgia Institute of Technology’s research and development resources, and job-hiring programs at the Georgia Department of Labor.
