China's Greatview Aseptic Packaging opens second aseptic packaging materials factory in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, adding 4 billion packs/year total production capacity

HOHHOT, Mongolia , July 10, 2011 (press release) – Greatview Aseptic Packaging (GA Pack), the second largest supplier of roll-fed aseptic packaging material globally, opened its second factory in Helingeer, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia at the end of June 2011.

The inauguration of its second packaging material factory is an important milestone in GA Pack’s growth strategy and adds an additional 4 billion packs to the company’s total production capacity.

Covering an area of 66,000 sqm, the Helingeer facilities are located in the center of China’s northern dairy belt, in close proximity to a number of the world’s largest dairy plants. Jeff Bi, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of GA Pack: “We are committed to growth, and we develop our business together with our customers. Our order intake from China and also internationally is developing very satisfyingly. With the inauguration of Helingeer so close to the leading dairy and non-carbonated soft drink producers we further improve our supply capability and the efficiency of our delivery. The leading-edge equipment and quality control systems that are put in place enable us to ensure continued provision of high quality services for our customers.” Helingeer will provide an initial annual production capacity of 4 billion packs, which is later to be doubled to 8 billion packs. “Moreover, GA Pack recently started construction work on its third factory in Halle, Germany, in Europe. With this third factory, GA Pack’s annual production capacity will be raised to 15.2 billion packs by the end of 2012”, adds Jeff Bi.

GA Pack’s second factory is not only a model for a technologically advanced production, it also incorporates a series of environmental protection measures such as the use of recycled materials for some of the facility’s walls, ceilings and window frames; a carbon footprint neutralizing program for the factory construction; a rain water collection system on the factory roof in such a dry area like Inner Mongolia; and a series of energy conservation measures ranging from underground water thermal system to power the chillers and air-conditioning system, use of natural lighting as much as possible, the use of solar thermal for staff showering and the employment of power-saving transformers.
