Beauty products maker The Estee Lauder Cos. has named a longtime Procter & Gamble executive to head product development.
Estee Lauder on Wednesday said Carl Haney will take over Jan. 1 as executive vice president of global research and development, corporate product innovation and package development.
Haney was an executive at Procter & Gamble for more than 20 years, where he was most recently vice president, research and development, male grooming, Gillette, Braun and Devices. He has also worked in other positions around the world, including as director of Latin America beauty care research and development.
He replaces Harvey Gedeon, who is retiring after 10 years.
Haney will report to president and CEO Fabrizio Freda, who said Haney's experience with new products and "locally relevant" product development will benefit Estee Lauder.
