VANCOUVER, British Columbia , July 28, 2011 (press release) – Pakit Inc., a leading innovator in the design and development of next-generation packaging technology, is pleased to announce that it is working with PepsiCo, the world's second largest food and beverage company, to develop new sustainable packaging.

"PepsiCo is on the leading edge of innovation when it comes to issues of sustainability. We are honored to have the opportunity to demonstrate how our transformative technology can satisfy the stringent standards set by their packaging requirements," says Dwayne Yaretz, President of Pakit Inc.

Over the past 10 years, Pakit has designed, refined, and proven the commercial capabilities of its innovative technology that can turn cellulose fibre into recyclable and biodegradable moulded board to replace the plastic and foam packaging that is currently used in the packaging industry. Moulded board is also thinner and offers a superior, smooth exterior surface, significantly improving logo and advertising print quality compared to other sustainable competitors. The technology makes it possible to form products with complicated shapes, from compartmental plates, clamshells and trays for the food industry to protective packaging for the electronics and pharmaceutical industries, with little or no risk of cracking or deformation. The natural advantage of fibre, with its highly dense fibre network, results in a product that is smooth, rigid, and resistant to moisture and grease. Products can be manufactured using a wide variety of virgin and recycled natural fibres and can go from freezer to microwave or oven.
