Subway Restaurants, the Arab region's biggest sandwich franchise, plans to double its restaurants in Egypt to eight in 2011 and open 90 units by 2017, QSR Web reported July 13.
The restaurant chain will open stores in Heliopolis and in Rehab City, as well as establish outlets at Cairo Festival City, Sun City Mall, New Cairo, Alexandria-Cairo main desert road, 6th October district, and Mohandesein, Alexandria and Hurghada.
Subway is the largest sandwich franchise in the Arab region, with more than 250 restaurants, including 106 in United Arab Emirates, 44 each in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, 17 in Qatar, 11 each in Jordan and Bahrain, nine in Oman, four in Egypt and five in Lebanon.
