Kuraray to resume normal production at Kashima plant in Ibaraki Prefecture by July 1; facility ceased operations from March to mid-April before running partially until early May, undergoing maintenance from mid-May

KAMISU CITY, Japan , June 30, 2011 (press release) – Kuraray Co., Ltd. announces the scheduled resumption of normal production at the Kashima Plant (Kamisu City, Ibaraki Prefecture). Although its production facilities did not sustain major damage during the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011, the Kashima Plant ceased operations until mid-April. From mid-April, the Kashima Plant maintained partial production using existing raw material stocks until early May. Operations were suspended again from mid-May in order to conduct legally mandated, periodic repairs. Schedule of the resumption are listed below.
