Southern yellow pine lumber producer Rex Lumber of Graceville, Florida, is curtailing production at all three of its sawmills by another 20% from current levels, Random Lengths reported on June 9.
The company said the curtailment of 35% over the last two months is the result of market conditions, and that production will remain at the curtailed levels until the market improves.
Rex Lumber's divisions include North Florida Woodlands and Apalachee Pole Co. In late 2009, the company purchased Columbus Lumber Co.'s sawmill in Brookhaven, Mississippi, renaming it Rex Lumber Brookhaven LLC.
