Selenis Canada starts up facility in Montreal to produce Infinite-band PET for packaging for North American market, says it is Canada's only PET manufacturer in operation

MONTREAL , May 12, 2011 (press release) – Selenis Canada Inc. today announced that its state-of-the-art polyethylene terephthalate (PET) facility started production earlier this month. The Montreal-based plant quickly achieved quality standards and its first product shipments are now on the way to customers.

Strategically located plant

Selenis Canada's technologically advanced PET plant is strategically located in the Montreal Polyester cluster, set to efficiently serve Canada and the United States. An on-site lab and rail loading capabilities, along with nearby supply chain partners, generate further efficiencies.

Selenis Canada is wholly owned by Control PET SGPS SA, a company controlled by Portugal-based Imatosgil Group (IMG), an international company present in the plastics industry since 1959. IMG is active in five areas: financial investments, private equity, petrochemicals, real estate and renewable energy.
